All Planar 80/2.8 versions use the same excellent optics and optical chem, however Zeiss has improved the coating and lens characteristics with every new generation.
In my opinion this particular lens is to be classified right in the middle between more modern "White Face" version and very early 2.8C/2.8D/2.8E generations.
This lens has improved, well balanced contrast (over the early versions), produces the perfect transition from dark to bright tones on black and white film and has amazing tonality and 3d pop.For collectors: Rolleiflex 2.8F type 1 especially with Carl Zeiss Planar 80/2.8 is really hard to find with the perfect or even good lens, most of the Planar 80/2.8 lenses from the early generations suffer nowadays from strong coating deterioration, lens separation or extreme haze.
Great restored condition (please refer the photos, I also added pictures made under the strong bulb light to make some traces visible), with some signs of use.
Camera has been completely rebuilt and re-adjusted
(The amount of work is greater the the usual overall "CLA", I check out the complete camera and take it fully apart, bring all the internal parts and adjustments back to the factory condition or even improve the factory settings, test all functions, clean, renew, re-lubricate, and readjust the whole camera), therefore all functions work accurately and even smoother than from the factory, the focus is adjusted to the film plane and also film tested on the special stand for excellent focus accuracy.
Both lenses has no visible scratches, no haze, no fungus, good preserved coating, may have some minimal residue and residual traces, also nothing that will affect taking pictures, tested with the lens tester as well. Btw you can see some bubbles inside the glass, a good sign of a great quality vintage lens!
